Tel Aviv Teacher Indicted for Sexual Offenses Against 12-Year-Old Student

The Tel Aviv District Attorney's Office has filed criminal charges against Muhammad Al Naqib, a mathematics teacher at a prestigious Tel Aviv school, accusing him of sexual offenses involving his 12-year-old student. The indictment was submitted to the Tel Aviv District Court by Attorney Lilach Shtibel from the Tel Aviv District Prosecutor's Office. The prosecution has also requested that Al Naqib remain in custody until the conclusion of the legal proceedings against him.

According to the investigation, Al Naqib allegedly met with the minor outside school hours, purportedly within the context of a personal relationship. The case began as a sensitive police investigation and led to Al Naqib's arrest last month. Since then, he has appeared multiple times in court for custody extension hearings. The court had previously imposed a gag order on the details of the indictment.

With the investigation now complete and the prosecution confident in the evidence, the court is expected to soon rule on the request to keep Al Naqib detained throughout the trial process. This development follows a broader public interest in safeguarding minors and ensuring accountability in educational institutions.
