Medica Rafael Hospital Operating Rooms Reopen After Partial Lifting of Closure Order

The Israeli Ministry of Health has partially lifted the closure order on the operating rooms at the private Medica Rafael Hospital in the Atidim Park area of northern Tel Aviv. The operating rooms have resumed activity following the ministry's review of corrective measures taken by the hospital to address previously identified deficiencies. The hospital, owned by the Meuhedet and Leumit health funds, was initially shut down after a surprise inspection on July 17 revealed improper procedures in the operating rooms and central sterile supply. The inspection also uncovered significant staff shortages and issues with the supply of sterile medical instruments intended for surgeries. The Ministry of Health approved a phased reopening of the operating rooms after confirming improvements in these areas.
