Israeli Police Shut Down Jaffa Business for Employing Illegal Worker

Israeli police officers from the Jaffa station conducted an enforcement operation on August 3, 2026, targeting illegal entry and employment violations in the Ayalon area. During the raid on a business located on Jaffa's main street, officers identified a 54-year-old resident of Jaba who was staying in Israel without legal authorization. He was found working at the establishment and was immediately arrested and taken for interrogation at the Jaffa police station, after which he was detained.

Simultaneously, the business owner, a 41-year-old resident of Jaffa, was also arrested on suspicion of employing an unauthorized worker. He was interrogated and subsequently released under restrictive conditions, though details of these conditions and further legal proceedings have not been disclosed. Following the investigation, licensing officers in the Ayalon district initiated administrative proceedings against the business.

Consequently, the district commander signed a closure order, resulting in the business being shut down for 30 days. The police also posted the closure notice at the premises. This action is part of ongoing efforts by Israeli authorities to combat illegal employment and unauthorized residency within the country.
