Israeli Police Arrest Two Illegal Workers at Construction Site, Employer Investigated

Israeli police officers from the Kiryat Malakhi station and fighters from the Southern Border Police arrested two illegal workers during a planned operation at a construction site in Nir Israel. The employer was also questioned on suspicion of employing and housing illegal workers. Following the incident, Southern District Commander Chief Superintendent Haim Bublil signed an administrative closure order for the site, shutting it down for 30 days.

The two detainees were taken for investigation at the police station, while the employer is being probed for violations related to employment and lodging of illegal workers. Initial investigative actions were conducted by licensing officers from Kiryat Malakhi and the Lachish area to advance the closure process. The closure order was issued based on a recommendation from the Southern District Legal Advisor's office.

Police stated that this enforcement activity is part of ongoing efforts to combat illegal residency, employment, transportation, and housing offenses. Authorities emphasized that enforcement actions against employers, landlords, and facilitators of illegal workers will continue.
