Police Arrest 30 Illegal Palestinian Workers at Jerusalem Construction Site

Security forces conducted a large-scale operation in the Neve Yaakov neighborhood of Jerusalem, apprehending approximately 30 Palestinians from Judea and Samaria who were present in Israel illegally and hiding at a construction site. The operation involved a significant police presence, including Border Police officers and firefighters, who breached locked doors to access the site.

Dramatic footage released from the operation shows officers advancing through the building with weapons drawn, searching rooms with flashlights. The suspects were found hiding in various spaces, some in small rooms with makeshift sleeping arrangements. Officers instructed them to raise their hands and lift their shirts to ensure they were not carrying weapons before handcuffing them and leading them to waiting police vehicles.

In addition to the 30 individuals found at the site, another suspect was arrested for allegedly transporting them. A police officer involved in the operation stated that the goal is to locate and remove illegal residents from the city to ensure the safety of Jerusalem's residents, especially with the start of the school year.

The Jerusalem District Police emphasized that targeted operations against illegal workers and their facilitators will continue extensively in the coming days to enhance public security. The operation, timed before the start of the school year, is part of broader efforts to maintain order and security in public spaces, with a focus on construction sites, businesses, and sensitive locations where unauthorized individuals may be present, aiming to prevent illegal entry and stay and to thwart security and criminal incidents.
