Volunteer Paramedic Husband Saves Wife After Electrocution Near Binyamina

A 26-year-old woman lost consciousness after being electrocuted while washing the floor of a loft near Binyamina, where she was staying with friends. Her husband, a volunteer paramedic with Magen David Adom (MDA), quickly responded by using a defibrillator he had on hand. Following the device's voice instructions, he administered an electric shock that restored her heartbeat and consciousness before emergency teams arrived.

MDA paramedics Yosef Mizrahi and Roni Simsolo arrived shortly after and found the woman stable and fully conscious, crediting the husband's prompt and professional actions for saving her life. The husband expressed that although he had trained for emergencies during his years volunteering with MDA, he never imagined he would have to save his own wife. He described the moment she regained consciousness as the most emotional experience of his life.

MDA emphasized the critical importance of immediate defibrillation in cardiac arrest cases, noting that every minute without resuscitation or electric shock significantly reduces survival chances. The defibrillator used automatically detects the need for a shock and guides the user through the process, making it accessible even to those without medical training. The woman was transported to Hillel Yaffe Medical Center in stable condition.
