Paramedic Saves Man’s Life After Sudden Collapse During Prayer in Kiryat Malakhi Synagogue
Security cameras captured a dramatic incident at a Chabad synagogue in the Nachlat Har Chabad neighborhood of Kiryat Malakhi, where a worshiper suddenly collapsed during prayer. About six weeks ago, Roni Nakash suffered cardiac arrest and lost consciousness while praying. At the same time, volunteer paramedic Alandiv Tam from United Hatzalah was present. Upon noticing Nakash’s collapse, Tam immediately sprang into action, calling emergency services via radio and performing life-saving CPR and defibrillation.
Additional United Hatzalah volunteers arrived shortly after and continued resuscitation efforts. Miraculously, Nakash’s heart restarted, and he regained full consciousness before being transported to the hospital in stable condition. The swift response, immediate CPR, and use of a defibrillator were critical in saving his life.
The story culminated last week during Tam’s son’s wedding, where Nakash surprised the paramedic by attending healthy and standing, expressing his deep gratitude. The emotional reunion highlighted the human impact behind every emergency call and the life-changing difference made by prompt medical intervention.
This event underscores the vital role of trained volunteers like Tam in emergency medical situations and the profound connections formed through acts of lifesaving aid.
