Volunteer Saves Wife’s Life With Defibrillator After Electric Shock During Family Vacation

During a family vacation near Binyamina on Sunday evening, a 26-year-old woman suffered an electric shock while cleaning the floor, causing her to collapse and lose consciousness. Her husband, a United Hatzalah volunteer and medic, quickly recognized the emergency and immediately used the defibrillator he carried to revive her. After delivering an electric shock, her heart resumed beating and she regained full consciousness. An ambulance team later provided additional medical care and transported her to Hillel Yaffe Medical Center for further observation, where she remains in stable condition.

The husband described the intense moment, saying that despite his experience with complex emergencies as a volunteer, nothing prepares you for treating your own spouse. He credited the rapid response and availability of advanced medical equipment, especially the defibrillator, for saving her life. United Hatzalah emphasized the critical importance of equipping every volunteer with such devices around the clock, noting that the volunteer’s quick thinking and immediate use of the defibrillator were lifesaving.
