Jerusalem Bus Driver Severely Attacked by Teenagers at Red Light, Loses Teeth

A Superbus driver on route 2 in Jerusalem was violently attacked by a group of teenagers while stopped at a red light at the Eshkol-Ramot intersection overnight. The youths began hitting the bus's sides, and when the driver opened the window to see what was happening, they struck him in the face, causing him to lose consciousness for several minutes and break four of his teeth. After regaining consciousness, the driver fled the scene and contacted the police before receiving medical treatment.

The driver, aged around 60, recounted to the workers' rights organization Koach LaOvdim that the attackers smashed the bus mirror and repeatedly hit him, leaving his nose and mouth swollen and requiring surgery. He expressed confusion and fear over the unprovoked assault, stating, "Why? I am an older man, almost 70. Why?" He also described losing control of the bus momentarily but managed to safely park it, fearing what might have happened if passengers had been on board.

Superbus condemned the attack and emphasized its zero tolerance for violence against public transport workers. The company is fully cooperating with Israeli police to apprehend the perpetrators and is providing ongoing support to the injured driver and his family until full recovery. The police have launched an investigation into the incident.
