Israeli Border Police Find Illegal Immigrant Hidden Inside Speaker in Car Trunk Near Jerusalem

During an operational activity last night, Israeli Border Police fighters from the Jerusalem Envelope unit, alongside checkpoint troops, inspected a vehicle arriving at a crossing. The officers noticed a speaker placed suspiciously in the car's trunk. Upon thorough inspection, they discovered a hidden compartment inside the speaker, concealed behind a baby seated in a designated car seat. Inside the speaker, they found a suspect identified as an illegal immigrant.

In a related incident at the Tunnel Checkpoint, an Arab man fled from police but was caught carrying a knife. Both the illegal immigrant found in the speaker and the driver suspected of transporting him were transferred for further investigation to the Border Police's Investigation and Intelligence Department in the Jerusalem Envelope area.

The police stated that this operation is part of a broader effort by Border Police fighters across various sectors over the past week. During this period, approximately 460 illegal immigrants and more than 60 additional suspects accused of transporting, harboring, and employing illegal immigrants were arrested.
