Israeli Police Arrest Driver and Seven Illegal Immigrants Hidden in Car Near West Bank Crossing
Israeli police from the Ariel station in the Samaria region arrested seven illegal immigrants and an Israeli driver suspected of smuggling them into Israel through the Rentis crossing. The driver, a man in his 30s from Bnei Brak, was stopped during a targeted operation by the Judea and Samaria District police. Authorities found seven illegal immigrants concealed inside the vehicle, some hidden under the rear seat and others in the trunk covered with a blanket in an attempt to evade detection.
All eight individuals were detained and taken to the Ariel police station for investigation. Police are currently examining the circumstances surrounding the case. The police emphasized their ongoing commitment to zero tolerance against illegal entry into Israel and those who assist in such activities. They also noted that transporting illegal immigrants is a serious criminal offense punishable by imprisonment and that illegal immigrants are often linked to other criminal and security offenses.
