Police Arrest Driver and Five Illegal Immigrants Found Hidden in Car Trunk at Tarkumia Crossing

Israeli police stopped a vehicle for inspection at the Tarkumia crossing and discovered five illegal immigrants inside, two of whom were hiding in the car's trunk. The driver, a man in his 30s from Petah Tikva, was also arrested after it was revealed that he was driving with a suspended license. The vehicle was stopped during a routine enforcement operation after arousing suspicion among officers. Three of the illegal immigrants were found in the back seat, while two were concealed in the trunk. All six individuals were taken into custody for further investigation at the police station.

Police noted an increase in arrests and indictments related to illegal immigration over the past year, including charges against those involved in transporting and harboring illegal immigrants. Lieutenant Colonel Lior Mitzrafi, commander of the Kiryat Malakhi police station, emphasized the ongoing efforts to combat employment and sheltering offenses involving illegal immigrants, highlighting cooperation among enforcement agencies and a commitment to pursuing legal action against offenders.
