Mohammad Dahlan Says Hamas Agrees to Gaza Ceasefire Framework Backed by US Assurance

Mohammad Dahlan, a senior former Fatah official, announced that Hamas and other Palestinian factions in Gaza have approved a 15-point roadmap agreement aimed at ending hostilities in the Gaza Strip. Dahlan stated that the success of the agreement hinges primarily on Israel's full commitment to cease military operations in Gaza. He revealed that Jared Kushner, the US President's Middle East envoy, assured him that an understanding had been reached with Israel to halt attacks.

Dahlan emphasized ongoing intensive negotiations with the US to ensure the agreement's full implementation. He called on Palestinian factions to fully commit to the deal and to stop armed demonstrations or any actions that could give Israel a pretext to undermine the agreement. Dahlan warned that continued Israeli bombings, killings, and strikes must cease for the agreement to succeed, expressing hope that Gaza residents would soon feel the positive effects if the ceasefire holds.

Looking ahead, Dahlan highlighted the need to prepare for Gaza's reconstruction and the continuation of political efforts toward establishing an independent Palestinian state.
