Hamas Commits to 15-Point Gaza Agreement Including Disarmament Clause

The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) announced the elimination of a Hamas terrorist involved in recent attacks, while Hamas confirmed its full commitment to the 15-point agreement concerning the Gaza Strip, including the sensitive clause on disarming the organization. This confirmation came from sources to Sky News Arabia following a positive meeting between US envoy Jared Kushner and a Hamas delegation, mediated by Egypt, Qatar, and Turkey. Kushner praised Hamas's stance and urged the group to adhere to the agreement despite ongoing Israeli violations.

This development coincides with heightened international diplomatic pressure on Israel. Eight Arab and Islamic countries, Egypt, Jordan, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Indonesia, Saudi Arabia, Turkey, and Pakistan, issued a joint statement sharply criticizing Israel's rejection of US President Donald Trump's plan to end the Gaza conflict. They expressed full support for the American framework, offered to assist its implementation, and warned that Israel's refusal could undermine US-led efforts to secure a lasting ceasefire. The statement also placed responsibility on Israel for the failure of peace efforts in Gaza and the Palestinian territories.

In response, Israel's Likud party issued a firm rebuttal, accusing the Arab states of seeking to topple Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to replace him with military figures more willing to concede. The joint declaration marks a significant expansion of diplomatic pressure on Jerusalem, shifting from a few mediators to a broader coalition directly blaming Israel.

Earlier, UN envoy Nikolay Mladenov met with Netanyahu, demanding a halt to Israeli strikes in Gaza to allow a 14-day ceasefire and the start of agreement implementation. Israeli officials expressed skepticism about the plan's feasibility, insisting that IDF withdrawal would only occur after neutralizing threats and disarming Hamas. Nevertheless, under mounting pressure and calls from the Trump administration, the Southern Command tightened its fire policy, reducing attacks in Gaza except in cases of immediate threats or exceptional incidents approved individually.
