Satmar Hasidic Matchmakers Hold Historic Gathering to Boost Marriages

On the 15th of Av, the Satmar Hasidic community organized an unprecedented large-scale matchmaking event titled "Matchmaking Gathering - Let's Break Plates." The event, initiated by "Kahal Yatab Lev d'Satmar" and the community's Matchmakers Committee, drew hundreds of matchmakers aiming to address the urgent matchmaking challenges faced by thousands of Satmar families eager to marry off their children and establish homes in Israel.

The gathering featured inspiring speeches, including one by Rabbi Shmuel Yaakov Meisels, the community's rabbinical judge in Kiryas Joel, who emphasized the significant responsibility and approaches to overcoming the matchmaking crisis from a Torah perspective. Rabbi Elazar Nissan Rubin, a renowned preacher, also delivered a passionate address on the importance of mutual responsibility within the community.

A highlight of the event was a special matchmakers' panel where experienced matchmakers openly discussed the complex difficulties parents and singles face, sharing practical and effective solutions to end the crisis and increase joyous weddings among the Hasidim. Concurrently, the community launched its annual matchmaking campaign to recruit and integrate young matchmakers and scholars, injecting fresh energy and initiative into the matchmaking system.

Additionally, the event saw the distribution of a newly published, elegant "Matchmaking Aid Book," which compiles detailed profiles of all eligible singles along with their preferences and aspirations. This comprehensive resource provides matchmakers with practical tools and extensive information to facilitate and advance matchmaking efforts with divine assistance.
