Jerusalem Murder Investigation Reveals Complex Web of Planning and Multiple Suspects
Nearly three weeks after the murder of 19-year-old Benyahu Razi in Jerusalem, the investigation has uncovered a complex case involving premeditation, a toxic relationship, and multiple suspects including intermediaries and alleged accomplices. The killing occurred in a rented apartment in the Nahalat Shiva neighborhood near Mahane Yehuda Market. Benyahu and a close friend were reportedly lured there by his ex-girlfriend Agam Sarfi and her friend Shilat Huta. What began as a planned meeting quickly turned into a deadly ambush after the women accused Benyahu and his friend of assaulting them.
According to police, several youths were summoned to the apartment on Saturday evening, where Benyahu was violently attacked and stabbed to death. His friend tried to defend him but was injured and initially detained on suspicion of involvement before being cleared. The investigation centers on the turbulent relationship between Benyahu and Sarfi, who is considered a primary suspect and alleged co-conspirator with Huta. Sarfi reportedly sent threatening messages to Benyahu shortly before the murder and allegedly watched the attack live via video call while communicating with other suspects.
The main suspect in the stabbing is 17-year-old Aviaor Sasson, who evaded capture for over two weeks before being arrested near Jerusalem. His mother, Linor Sasson, is also suspected of organizing the murder plot from her home and aiding suspects in fleeing and obstructing the investigation. Another suspect, David Keren, is accused of acting as a liaison between the planners and the perpetrators. The probe has expanded to include a policewoman, Sarfi’s sister, suspected of concealing information about the crime, and a prison officer who allegedly facilitated communication between an inmate related to the suspects and outside accomplices during the escape period.
Authorities have identified four concentric circles of involvement: the planners, the intermediaries, the direct perpetrators, and those allegedly involved in post-crime cover-up efforts. Most suspects deny the charges against them. The investigation remains active with ongoing interrogations and legal proceedings.
