Jerusalem Man Benyahu Razi Killed in Alleged Plot by Ex-Girlfriend and Accomplices

Benyahu Razi, 19, was fatally attacked in a premeditated assault at an Airbnb apartment in the Nahalat neighborhood of Jerusalem on July 12. The attack followed a prolonged and toxic relationship with his ex-girlfriend Agam Sarfi, also 19, who, along with her friend Shilat Huta (19) and Linor Sasson (50), is suspected of orchestrating the murder. Police allege that Sarfi and Huta rented the apartment where Razi and his friend were invited, and after a violent confrontation, they enlisted criminal associates to carry out the attack.

According to police, the three women fueled the conflict, connected with criminal elements, and watched the assault via video call while the perpetrators, minors themselves, physically attacked Razi and his friend with weapons including knives and a meat tenderizer hammer. Razi was killed and his friend was lightly injured. The police emphasize that the attack was planned rather than spontaneous.

The background to the murder includes mutual police complaints and restraining orders between Razi and Sarfi, with Razi having filed a complaint about threats and intimidation by Sarfi about ten months prior. Sarfi and Huta claimed that Razi and his friend were violent towards them during the incident, but police suspect they later showed images of injuries to criminal contacts to solicit help against Razi.

Additionally, the case involves Sarfi's sister, a traffic police officer, who is under investigation by the Police Investigations Department for obstruction of justice and breach of trust. She allegedly met with Sarfi and Huta shortly after the attack, was informed of the events, and took actions that may have hindered the investigation. She was released under restrictive conditions including house arrest and a ban on contacting those involved.

The investigation continues as police hold the suspects in custody and probe the full extent of the criminal network involved in the murder.
