Brother of Ex-Girlfriend and Friends Suspected in Brutal Killing of Israeli Teen in Jerusalem Airbnb
Benyahu Razi, a 19-year-old from Givat Ze'ev near Jerusalem, was fatally stabbed in a rented Airbnb apartment in the Nahalat neighborhood on Saturday night. His mother, Dikla Razi, described her son as a kind-hearted young man who was peaceful and had no conflicts. She said he had only planned to spend a weekend in Jerusalem and was unexpectedly attacked.
According to police suspicions, the ex-girlfriend of Benyahu, who was present in the apartment with him and a friend, called her brother on Saturday night. He then arrived with a group of youths who allegedly carried out a violent lynching against Benyahu. The murder was reportedly broadcast live to the ex-girlfriend and another young woman outside the scene, who then helped the suspects escape.
Benyahu was found with multiple stab wounds and rushed to the hospital in critical condition but later died. The police launched a manhunt and arrested six suspects, some of whom are minors. The court extended their detention. A year prior, Benyahu had filed a police complaint against his ex-girlfriend for harassment and reported death threats from several men, which police now believe culminated in this fatal attack.
Dikla Razi expressed her anguish, stating, "They destroyed our lives. We will never be the same family without Benyahu, who never fought with anyone and only wanted to enjoy a weekend." The police continue their investigation into the circumstances surrounding the murder and the involvement of the suspects.
