Jerusalem Man Murdered After Threatening Messages From Ex-Girlfriend
Beniyahu Razi, 19, was reportedly murdered during a violent altercation in an Airbnb apartment in Jerusalem's Nahalat neighborhood. Prior to his death, Razi had filed a police complaint against his ex-girlfriend, accusing her of sending him threats and dispatching men to intimidate him. Recordings obtained by ynet reveal a heated exchange where Razi tells his ex-girlfriend he has a restraining order against her, while she responds with profanities and threats, including plans to confront him at his grandmother's home.
The police investigation uncovered threatening messages from the ex-girlfriend, who warned Razi not to contact her and implied violent consequences if he did. Razi's complaint, filed ten months before his murder, stated he feared for his life due to these ongoing threats. Authorities are examining whether these earlier threats are connected to the murder.
The Jerusalem District Police's Major Crimes Unit continues to investigate, suspecting Razi was killed with a meat tenderizer hammer. Seven suspects, including teenagers and a mother believed to have facilitated the crime and helped suspects evade capture, have been arrested. The murder was reportedly broadcast live to two young women, who remain in custody.
Razi's funeral recently took place, where his father tearfully lamented the loss and pleaded with young people to avoid violence, expressing the pain of burying his son and the emptiness left behind.
