Jerusalem Man Reported Death Threats 10 Months Before Fatal Stabbing in Airbnb
Investigators from the Serious Crimes Unit in Jerusalem are continuing their probe into the stabbing murder of 19-year-old Beniho Razi, who was killed in an Airbnb apartment in the Nahalat neighborhood. It has emerged that Razi had filed a police complaint about 10 months before his death, claiming that several men had threatened to kill him. The murder occurred on a Saturday during a fight, and seven suspects, including teenagers and the mother of one suspect, have been arrested. Authorities allege the mother acted as a mediator between the suspects and helped some evade capture after the murder. The police also claim the stabbing was broadcast live to two young women, who remain in custody until Thursday. Among the detainees is a young woman who had a previous relationship with Razi; he had accused her of harassment and threats in a complaint filed last September.
Razi worked at a Pizza Hut branch in Jerusalem and was the son of a teacher and a municipal employee. His family opposes an autopsy. Initial investigations indicate Razi was at the short-term rental with a friend and several young women when one allegedly called an acquaintance who arrived with others, leading to the stabbing. Emergency medical teams found Razi unconscious with severe stab wounds and efforts to resuscitate him failed; he was pronounced dead at Shaare Zedek Medical Center.
A neighbor reported repeatedly alerting police about drug dealing, prostitution, and disorder in the building, but said authorities did not intervene. He expressed frustration over the lack of safety and law enforcement in the area, calling the situation "shocking" and saying the murder was "expected." Defense attorney Omri Stern, representing one suspect, stated she denies involvement, was not present during the incident, and has cooperated fully with investigators, expecting her release soon.
