The story · English

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) announced the killing of Ahmad Hussein Muhammad Kafina, the commander of the Central Camps area for the terrorist organization Katab al-Mujahedin, in an airstrike in the Gaza Strip earlier this week. Kafina was responsible for orchestrating the October 7 attack on Israeli territory, known as the October 7 massacre, and played a direct role in the kidnappings of Avintan Or and Noa Argamani, as well as directing the attempted abduction of Sudisak Rintalak.

Throughout the conflict, Kafina advanced terror operations targeting both IDF forces and Israeli civilians, posing an immediate threat that led to his precise aerial elimination. The IDF's Southern Command remains deployed in the area under existing agreements and will continue efforts to neutralize threats.

Katab al-Mujahedin, established about 20 years ago after splitting from Fatah, operates in the West Bank and Gaza Strip. Its leadership is primarily drawn from the Gaza Bedouin families of al-Husayna and Abu Shreia. The group has claimed responsibility for various terror and guerrilla attacks against Israeli targets in recent years, including rocket fire and assaults in Judea and Samaria.
