Former Georgetown Center Kodos Wahab Set to Join Maccabi Ashdod Basketball Team

Maccabi Ashdod is strengthening its roster by signing 26-year-old Nigerian center Kodos Wahab, who is expected to officially join the team today. Wahab, standing 2.11 meters tall, previously played college basketball at Georgetown, Maryland, and Penn State. His professional career in Europe includes stints in the Greek league with Lavrio, where he was a leading shot blocker, and last season in the French league with Cholet. In his most recent season, Wahab averaged 5.6 points and 4.2 rebounds per game over 16.2 minutes.

This move marks Wahab's third European team. He will join teammates Robert Turner and Isaiah Hill at Ashdod, alongside Israeli players Ben Gold, Sean Dawson, Omer Ben David, and Ziv Weisman. Meanwhile, the club is also searching for an additional player capable of playing both power forward and center positions. The signing is part of Ashdod's efforts to bolster its squad ahead of the upcoming Israeli Basketball Premier League season.
