Forward Marquis McDuffie Joins Maccabi Ashdod as Fifth Foreign Player
Maccabi Ashdod officially announced the signing of 29-year-old forward Marquis McDuffie, who stands 2.03 meters tall, on August 17, 2026. McDuffie will be the fifth foreign player on the newly promoted team's roster, joining Augustin Robit, Isaiah Hill, Robert Turner, and Kodos Wahab.
McDuffie, who developed at Wichita State, has played professionally in Italy, France, and Turkey. In the previous season with Nancy, he averaged 6.1 points and 2.4 rebounds per game. Earlier in his career, he was named to the Italian league's second team after averaging 16.3 points and 6.3 rebounds per game.
Nati Cohen, the club's professional manager, praised McDuffie's extensive experience in top European leagues, highlighting his energy, athleticism, individual skills, and rebounding ability. Cohen said McDuffie completes the team's puzzle within their budget constraints, avoiding unnecessary risks or gambles. The club expressed satisfaction with the roster they have assembled for the upcoming season.
