Sean Dawson Signs With Maccabi Ashdod Ahead of New Basketball Season
Maccabi Ashdod, recently promoted to the Israeli Premier Basketball League, has officially signed 32-year-old swingman Sean Dawson. Standing 1.98 meters tall, Dawson has seen limited playtime over the past two years, appearing in only 13 games last season split between Bnei Herzliya and Ironi Nes Ziona. Prior to that, in the 2024/25 season, he played six games in Italy's second division for Forli, following two seasons with Hapoel Holon where he posted solid averages of 11 points and 3.3 rebounds per game in 2022/23.
Dawson expressed enthusiasm about joining Ashdod, stating, "I am happy and excited to join the Maccabi Ashdod family. I look forward to starting the season, collaborating with Dan and the team, and helping to establish the club as a competitive and successful team in the top league with high goals and ambitions. See you soon at the arena."
This signing marks Dawson's fifth team in the Israeli Premier League, having previously played for Maccabi Rishon LeZion, Bnei Herzliya, Hapoel Holon, and Ironi Nes Ziona. Maccabi Ashdod is actively building its roster to compete in the top tier following their recent promotion.
