Former Georgetown Center Kuddus Wahab Set to Join Maccabi Ashdod Basketball Team

Maccabi Ashdod is strengthening its roster by signing 26-year-old Nigerian center Kuddus Wahab, who is expected to officially join the team on Friday. Wahab, standing 2.11 meters tall, previously played college basketball at Georgetown, Maryland, and Penn State. His professional career in Europe includes stints with Lavrio in the Greek league, where he was a leading shot blocker, and most recently in the French league. In his last season, Wahab averaged 5.6 points and 4.2 rebounds per game over 16.2 minutes.

Wahab will be the third European stop in his career and will join teammates Robert Turner and Isaiah Hill at Ashdod. The team also has Israeli players Ben Gold, Sean Dawson, Omer Ben David, and Ziv Weisman signed. Meanwhile, Maccabi Ashdod is actively seeking an additional player capable of playing both power forward and center positions. The signing is part of the club's efforts to bolster its competitiveness in the Israeli Basketball Premier League.
