Israeli Tourists Clash With Palestinians in Nablus, Damage Cemetery Amid Rising Tensions

A week after the deaths of Lt. Col. Yuval Ezra and retired Sgt. Binyahu Malat in the Nablus area, Israeli tourists visited the region this morning, sparking clashes. The Israeli military stated the tours were not coordinated but prepared to prevent unusual incidents. Despite these efforts, confrontations erupted as Palestinians threw stones at the Israelis, who responded with warning shots fired into the air, causing no injuries. Additionally, several Israeli civilians vandalized a Palestinian cemetery, according to the IDF spokesperson.

Israeli forces, pre-positioned to manage the arrival of the tourists, dispersed the gatherings and escorted the civilians out of Nablus. Afterward, Palestinians threw stones at the IDF troops, who responded by detaining a key Palestinian agitator and firing at him. Palestinian reports claim Israelis used tear gas and stun grenades against homes, with the Red Crescent reporting one 32-year-old man shot and ten others injured.

The IDF emphasized that entry into Area A, under Palestinian Authority control, is forbidden and dangerous for Israelis and constitutes a legal violation. The situation remains tense following the recent killings and ongoing confrontations in the area.
