Israeli Civilians Vandalize Palestinian Cemetery During Tensions Near Nablus

On Friday, clashes erupted near Nablus when a group of Israeli civilians entered the Palestinian village of Tal in the Samaria region, close to the site where Israeli soldier Binyahu Malt was killed. The group then proceeded toward the outskirts of the city of Nablus. According to the Israel Defense Forces (IDF), Palestinians threw stones at the Israelis, and one Palestinian fired a warning shot into the air. No injuries were reported.

During the incident, the IDF reported that several Israeli civilians vandalized a Palestinian cemetery in the area. Initially, no IDF forces were present, but troops were quickly deployed to disperse the crowd and escort all Israeli civilians out of Nablus. Subsequently, Palestinians also threw stones at the IDF forces, who responded with a suspect arrest procedure that included firing toward a central instigator.

The IDF emphasized that entry into Area A, which is under full Palestinian Authority control, is illegal and dangerous for Israelis. The military stated that forces remain on alert in the region to prevent further friction and violent incidents.
