Israeli Soldier’s Stolen Weapon Recovered and Returned After Attack Near Susya

The Judea and Samaria District Police have returned an Israeli soldier’s personal weapon that was stolen during an attack near the West Bank settlement of Susya last weekend. The weapon was found abandoned in the area by security forces, examined as part of the investigation, and handed back to the soldier after he provided testimony. The soldier was injured in the assault by Palestinian assailants, hospitalized, and later came forward to assist police with their inquiry aimed at prosecuting the suspects.

Police confirmed the weapon was used for forensic testing to strengthen the evidentiary basis against the Palestinian suspects who allegedly held it. Earlier on the same day, the military court in Judea extended the detention of four Palestinians suspected of attacking the soldier by an additional seven days. The incident occurred while the soldier was on leave and touring Susya, where attackers tried to shoot him and forcibly took his weapon. Despite being wounded, the soldier fought back and managed to escape the scene.

The police emphasized that the victim’s testimony was crucial for advancing the investigation and bringing the suspects to justice.
