Georgi Yarmakov Reflects on Fan Culture and Experience in Israeli Football

Georgi Yarmakov, former Maccabi Haifa player, recently discussed his transfer to Metalist Kharkiv and shared insights from his time in Israeli football during an interview on his new club's official YouTube channel. After lengthy negotiations lasting over a month, Yarmakov expressed satisfaction with the transfer process and readiness to face new challenges in Ukraine, which he considers home. He fondly recalled returning to Kyiv, describing nostalgic moments and the familiar environment.

Yarmakov highlighted the distinct fan culture in Israel as a major difference from Ukraine, emphasizing the passionate atmosphere created by supporters at both home and away games. He described the vibrant displays in the stands, the large crowds, and the tradition of personalized player chants based on popular songs, which he found unique and enjoyable. He also noted the multilingual communication required on the field due to a diverse defensive line, which helped him develop new skills.

Reflecting on his football experience in Israel, Yarmakov mentioned adapting to a different playing style and coaching changes during the season. He praised the high-level goalkeeper coach who contributed significantly to his development.
