Former Hapoel Holon Player Darin Green Jr. Suspended After Positive Cannabis Test
Darin Green Jr., a former player for Hapoel Holon in the Israeli Basketball Premier League, has been temporarily suspended from all sports activities after failing a drug test. The test, conducted on May 18, revealed the presence of cannabis, a substance banned under the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) regulations. Green Jr. appeared in 18 games for Holon last season, averaging 14.7 points in 13 regular season games and 10.6 points in 5 playoff games. He is no longer with the team, as the club decided not to extend his contract about a month ago. Following the positive test result, WADA notified the player, the club management, the Israeli Basketball Association, and FIBA. Green Jr. has the right to a hearing and to request analysis of a B sample. The league has confirmed the suspension pending further proceedings.
