Serbian Goalkeeper Tomislav Stojkovic Signs Third Term with Maccabi Tel Aviv Handball

Tomislav Stojkovic, the 41-year-old Serbian handball goalkeeper, has officially signed with Maccabi Tel Aviv for the 2026/27 season, marking his third stint playing in Israel. Standing 1.92 meters tall, Stojkovic brings extensive international experience from both Israeli and European leagues. He previously played in Israel for Hapoel Rishon Lezion in the 2011/12 season, leading them to a State Cup victory. He returned in 2017/18 to join Hapoel Ashdod, where over four seasons he helped win the national championship in 2018/19 and was named MVP of the finals series. In 2020/21, he captained Ashdod to another State Cup win before spending two seasons with B.S. Ramat Hasharon.

Stojkovic began his career with Partizan Belgrade, one of Serbia's top clubs, and also played in Poland, Switzerland, and Romania. His accolades include a Serbian championship, two cups with Partizan, and a gold medal with the Serbian national team at the 2010 Mediterranean Games. After signing, Stojkovic expressed his affection for Israel and optimism about the upcoming season, promising dedication and hard work. Maccabi Tel Aviv coach Evitar Geva praised Stojkovic's physical presence, professional skills, leadership, and experience, emphasizing his expected positive impact on the team throughout the season.
