Serbian Goalkeeper Tomislav Stojkovic Signs with Maccabi Tel Aviv Handball for Third Israeli Stint

Tomislav Stojkovic, the 41-year-old Serbian handball goalkeeper, has officially signed with Maccabi Tel Aviv for the 2026/27 season, marking his third tenure playing in Israel. Standing 1.92 meters tall, Stojkovic brings extensive international experience from both Israeli and European leagues. He previously played in Israel for Hapoel Rishon Lezion during the 2011/12 season, leading them to a State Cup victory. He returned in 2017/18 to join Hapoel Ashdod, where he played four seasons, winning the national championship in 2018/19 and earning MVP honors in the finals series. In 2020/21, he captained Ashdod to another State Cup title before spending two seasons with B.S. Ramat Hasharon.

Stojkovic began his career with Partizan Belgrade, one of Serbia's top clubs, and later played in Poland, Switzerland, and Romania. His accolades include a Serbian championship, two cups with Partizan, and a gold medal with the Serbian national team at the 2010 Mediterranean Games. After signing, Stojkovic expressed his affection for Israel and optimism about the upcoming season, promising humility, hard work, and full dedication on the court.
