Four Minors Arrested for Assaulting Cinema Usher in Rehovot After Smoking Dispute

Four minors from central Israel were arrested on suspicion of violently attacking a 19-year-old usher at a cinema in Rehovot. The incident occurred after the usher asked a group of teenagers to stop smoking electronic cigarettes inside the theater. Following a verbal dispute, one of the youths assaulted the usher, striking him in the face until he lost consciousness. Subsequently, three other minors joined in, kicking the victim while he was on the ground.

Emergency medical teams transported the usher to Kaplan Medical Center with serious injuries, including a broken nasal bridge, bleeding requiring stitches, and a blood clot in his eye. The Rehovot police station initiated an investigation, utilizing technological means to identify the suspects. After obtaining arrest warrants from the court, the four minors were detained at their homes.

The suspects were brought before the court for an extension of their detention, but the court ordered their release to house arrest under restrictive conditions. The investigation into the assault is ongoing.
