Hapoel Be'er Sheva Parts Ways with Veteran Left-Back Helder Lopes After Five Seasons

Hapoel Be'er Sheva has officially parted ways with Helder Lopes, the 37-year-old Portuguese left-back, after five seasons with the club. Lopes, who joined the team in the summer of 2021 from AEK Athens following four seasons in Greece, concluded his contract and is now seeking a new club. Prior to his time in Greece, he played for several Portuguese teams including Las Palmas and Paços de Ferreira.

During his tenure at Be'er Sheva, Lopes became one of the most recognizable foreign players of the past decade, earning a strong connection with the fans. He made 190 appearances, scored 26 goals, and provided 16 assists. Known for his fiery temperament, Lopes received 51 yellow cards and two red cards over his time with the club.

The club expressed gratitude and emphasized that they will "always remain a family." Lopes' departure coincides with the imminent signing of Pedro Amador, who has already arrived in Israel and undergone medical examinations, signaling a new chapter for the team's left-back position.
