Hapoel Be'er Sheva Parts Ways with Veteran Left-Back Helder Lopes After Five Seasons

Hapoel Be'er Sheva has officially parted ways with Portuguese left-back Helder Lopes after five seasons with the club. Lopes, 37, concluded his contract with the team on Wednesday, ending a significant chapter for both player and club. He joined Be'er Sheva in the summer of 2021 from AEK Athens, where he had spent four seasons, and previously played for Las Palmas, Paços de Ferreira, and other Portuguese clubs.

During his tenure at Be'er Sheva, Lopes became one of the most recognized foreign players of the past decade, earning a strong fan following. He made 190 appearances, scored 26 goals, and provided 16 assists. Known for his fiery temperament, Lopes received 51 yellow cards and two red cards throughout his time with the club. The club expressed their gratitude, stating, "We will always remain a family."
