On Monday night, Israeli fighter Ahavat Hashem Gordon achieved a major career milestone by defeating Brazilian John Lineker in the main event of GFN 1, held before a sold-out crowd at Tel Aviv's Menora Mivtachim Arena. The event featured a mix of MMA, kickboxing, and Muay Thai bouts, showcasing fighters from Israel and abroad. Lineker, a seasoned Brazilian fighter with an 11-37 record, initially took the first round despite Gordon’s strong start and a cut inflicted on Lineker. Kibadi Gordon scored a knockout in under 45 seconds against Mexican fighter Jose Alberto Quinones in a Muay Thai bout, while Ruach Hashem Gordon won a unanimous decision over Moldovan Maximus Bazhnota in a tough fight. Other notable Israeli fighters included former UFC competitor Natan Levy and Ilai Barzilai.

GFN 1 marked the first international sports event at Menora Mivtachim Arena since security concerns led to the removal of EuroLeague basketball games from Israel. Despite challenges, the organizers successfully attracted international fighters and filled the arena, signaling a breakthrough for martial arts in Israel.
