17-Year-Old From Kfar Saba Dies in Deadly Bus-Car Collision Near Nir Eliyahu
A fatal traffic accident occurred on Monday evening near Kibbutz Nir Eliyahu in the Sharon region, involving a bus and a private car on Road 5504. A 17-year-old driver from Kfar Saba died at the scene from severe head injuries. An 18-year-old passenger in the same vehicle was critically injured with head and limb trauma and was evacuated to Beilinson Hospital in Petah Tikva. The bus driver sustained minor injuries and was taken to Meir Hospital in Kfar Saba. Rescue teams from the Sharon Fire Station used hydraulic tools to extricate the trapped teenager from the car. Paramedics Noam Torem and Avichai Pinchasi reported arriving to find three casualties, including the unconscious teen, and despite medical efforts, the young driver was pronounced dead on site. The other injured parties received immediate treatment and were transported to hospitals in serious and mild conditions respectively.
In a separate incident on the same evening, a foreign worker in his 30s was seriously injured after being hit by a vehicle while riding an electric bicycle near Nir Tzvi on Road 44. He was taken to Assaf Harofeh Hospital in serious but stable condition.
