18-Year-Old Dies in Severe Collision Between Private Car and Bus Near Nir Eliyahu

A fatal traffic accident occurred on Monday afternoon on Road 5504 near Kibbutz Nir Eliyahu in the Sharon region, involving a private car and a bus. The 18-year-old driver of the private vehicle died at the scene after his car collided forcefully with the bus. Firefighters had to extricate the young driver from the wreckage, finding him unconscious with severe head trauma. Despite extensive medical efforts by paramedics and rescue teams, his death was confirmed on site.

The bus driver sustained minor injuries and was taken to Meir Medical Center in Kfar Saba for treatment. Another 18-year-old passenger in the private car was seriously injured and evacuated to Beilinson Hospital. Emergency services including United Hatzalah, Magen David Adom, firefighters, and ZAKA volunteers responded rapidly to the scene following the initial report around 6:30 PM.

Israeli police and traffic investigators blocked the road segment to collect evidence and determine the circumstances leading to the collision. Paramedics described the scene as severe, with three casualties including the deceased driver, a seriously injured passenger, and the bus driver with minor wounds. The investigation into the cause of the crash is ongoing.
