Israeli Police Seek Mother Suspected of Kidnapping Two Children Near Jerusalem
The Israeli police issued an unusual public appeal on Monday afternoon for help locating a woman suspected of abducting her two children and hiding in the Jerusalem area. The suspect, 20-year-old Aliyah Joy Hirschberg from Jerusalem, is wanted along with her daughter Tala Reizel, age 3, and son Natan Yaakov Verona, age 1. Police investigators from the Jerusalem district's Lev HaBira station are conducting the inquiry following a complaint filed against Hirschberg.
According to the investigation, the mother and her children entered Israel in August 2025 and have since disappeared. Authorities believe they may still be in the Jerusalem vicinity. The police released photos of the mother and her children, an uncommon step, and urged anyone with information to contact emergency number 100 or the investigating unit directly at 02-5391550.
It remains unclear on what grounds Hirschberg is suspected of kidnapping or who filed the complaint. The police have not provided further details about the circumstances of the case or the motive behind the alleged abduction.
