Yonatan Alon Leaves Hapoel Jerusalem After Three Seasons
Alon coached the team for the past three seasons and guided it to major milestones, most notably the State Cup title in the 2023/24 season. The following season, he led the Reds to the State Cup final and to the Israeli league playoff finals series.
In its farewell statement, the club thanked him, writing: "Yonc'uk, thank you for the shared path, for uncompromising professionalism, for commitment, and for the moments of happiness you gave us all. Much success in your next chapter, you will always be part of the Hapoel family."
Jerusalem had already reached an agreement two weeks ago with Sasha Obradovic, who is expected to sign a two-year deal with an option for a third season. The club is preparing major changes for next season, both on the bench and in the roster.
One of the commitments made to Obradovic is a significant budget increase, intended to help Hapoel Jerusalem compete for the EuroCup title. In the squad, Jared Harper is expected to stay, he already has a contract for next season and is likely to receive a new improved deal soon. Yuval Zusman, Roy Huber, Nמרוד Levy and Eitan Borg also have contracts for another season, while Justin Smith remains uncertain but is also expected to get a new contract.
