Israeli Forces Arrest Four Militants in South Hebron After Soldier's Weapon Is Stolen

A prolonged intelligence operation by Israeli security forces concluded successfully on Monday night with the arrest of four militants involved in attacking and stealing a soldier's weapon in the Susya area of southern Hebron. The stolen weapon was recovered and returned to security forces shortly after the incident, which occurred over the weekend when militants assaulted a soldier on leave, seized his weapon, and fled. During the attack, an Israeli civilian was also injured by stone-throwing and required medical treatment.

Following the incident, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF), police, and Shin Bet launched an extensive manhunt. Initial searches led to the recovery of the weapon and the arrest of two suspects. On Sunday night, fighters from the elite Duvdevan unit conducted an operation in the Yatta area of the Judea Division, arresting a third militant connected to the weapon theft. Early Monday, a fourth suspect surrendered to the Civil Administration forces. All detainees have been transferred for further investigation.

The Susya area in southern Hebron is considered a sensitive security zone, having seen multiple recent clashes between Jewish residents and Palestinians, sometimes involving far-left activists. This successful operation highlights the critical intelligence cooperation between the IDF, police, and Shin Bet, as well as their swift and decisive response to restore order and security.
