Former Israeli Air Force Pilot Midan Bar Joins Avigdor Lieberman's Yisrael Beiteinu Party

Yisrael Beiteinu announced the addition of Midan Bar to its ranks on Monday. Bar, a retired lieutenant colonel in the Israeli Air Force and a veteran El Al pilot, is concluding his seven-year tenure as chairman of the Israeli Pilots Association. During his military service, he was a decorated helicopter pilot who flew numerous operational missions until reaching the age limit. He continues to serve in the reserves as a flight instructor at the Israeli Air Force Flight School. Professionally, Bar is also a lawyer with a degree in political science and volunteers as a traffic police officer.

Avigdor Lieberman, chairman of Yisrael Beiteinu, welcomed Bar’s joining, highlighting his experience in crisis decision-making and leadership under complex conditions. Bar expressed his belief that joining Yisrael Beiteinu is the path to replacing the current government, restoring security and governance, strengthening the economy, and ensuring a better future for all Israeli citizens and children.

Bar’s recruitment follows a series of recent reinforcements to Yisrael Beiteinu, including Gil Segal, a founder and former CEO of the Yesh Atid party, and Sharon Sharabi, a leading figure in the campaign for the return of hostages and brother of the late Yossi Sharabi, who was killed in Hamas captivity. These additions signal Yisrael Beiteinu’s efforts to bolster its political standing ahead of upcoming elections.
