Israeli Pilots Union Chair Midan Bar Joins Yisrael Beiteinu, Endorses Liberman

Midan Bar, chairman of the Israeli Pilots Union and a retired Air Force lieutenant colonel, announced on Monday his decision to join the Yisrael Beiteinu party and support its leader Avigdor Liberman ahead of the 2026 elections. Bar emphasized the need for experienced leadership in Israel, comparing it to aviation where a skilled captain is essential during crises. He described Liberman as the most suitable candidate to lead the next government, praising his strong leadership, experience, and clear vision. Bar highlighted Liberman's proven record of prioritizing the country's welfare over other considerations in senior roles.

Bar explained that his move to Yisrael Beiteinu stems from his belief that the party offers the best path to change the current government, restore security and governance, strengthen the economy, and ensure a better future for all Israeli citizens and children. Bar is concluding his seven-year tenure as chairman of the Pilots Union and continues to serve as an active flight instructor in the Air Force reserves. His background includes decorated service as a helicopter pilot, numerous operational flights, and a professional career as a lawyer with a degree in political science. Additionally, he volunteers as a traffic police officer and lives in the moshav of Habazeleth HaSharon.
