Rabbi Yaakov Farber, Leader of Haredi IDF Integration Program, Passes Away at 32

Rabbi Yaakov Aharon Farber, a prominent figure in the Belz Hasidic community and a key leader of the 'Ma'alot Tzur' program integrating Haredi men into the Israel Defense Forces, passed away overnight at Hadassah Ein Kerem Hospital in Jerusalem. He was 32 years old. Rabbi Farber had been battling a serious illness for the past year, and despite widespread prayers for his recovery, his condition worsened in recent days. He died surrounded by family and friends reciting traditional prayers.

Rabbi Farber was widely respected for his dedication to creating a military service track that accommodated the strict religious lifestyle of Haredi soldiers, including their prayer schedules and Torah study. Colleagues described him as a devout, energetic individual who devoted his life to communal service with kindness and warmth.
