Beitar Jerusalem Fans Face Flight Shortages Ahead of Romania Match

With three days remaining before the second leg of their Conference League qualifier against AEK Larnaca in Ploiești, Romania, Beitar Jerusalem is intensifying efforts to increase fan attendance. The club holds a 1-0 advantage from the first leg in Cyprus but faces a challenge as Israeli airlines report no available seats for flights to Romania on the days leading up to the match, including the game day itself.

Fans have expressed frustration over the lack of flights, with some planning to fly to Budapest and then drive approximately 840 kilometers to Romania if direct flights to Bucharest remain unavailable. Beitar began ticket sales yesterday, with around 2,000 tickets sold so far.

On the player front, injured midfielder Tomer Yosefi and defender Luka Gadrani are progressing well in their recovery. Both are training without contact and expected to increase intensity ahead of Thursday's match, with Yosefi showing faster improvement. The team conducted two training sessions yesterday and will hold two more before departing for Bucharest.

Coach Almog Cohen praised the players for their pace and attitude in a recent team meeting but emphasized that the previous 1-0 result is not sufficient to secure advancement. Additionally, Cohen will step back from his dual role as head coach and professional manager of the youth department, with Roi Zakrovitz appointed to oversee youth development. Zakrovitz brings experience as an analyst and scout and will continue as one of four analysts at the club.
