Arab Driver Released Without Questioning After Hitting Haredi Protester at Geha Junction
A 22-year-old Arab woman from Kafr Qasim was released without being questioned after she struck a Haredi protester during a demonstration at Geha Junction on Thursday night, according to Channel 14. She was allowed to go because she said she needed medical treatment, and police are expected to summon her for questioning later.
The incident happened while the woman was driving past the protest and hit a Haredi demonstrator. Medical teams evacuated the injured man for treatment, and his condition was described as moderate. The investigation into the circumstances is still ongoing, and for now the driver remains free.
Magen David Adom said crews who were dispatched on Thursday night evacuated the injured man after what it described as a deliberate hit-and-run at the Ganot Interchange. The victim, 21, was hurt moderately near Mesubim.
At the end of the protests, the Jerusalem Faction said the demonstrations would not stop. “On the contrary, they are expected only to intensify and expand,” the group said. “The message of the thousands of protesters is clear, leave the Torah learners and there will be peace here. Keep persecuting them and you will find that normal life here will not return to what it was.”
