Maccabi Netanya Signs Former Maccabi Haifa Captain Dolev Haziza on Two-Year Deal

Maccabi Netanya officially announced the signing of midfielder Dolev Haziza from Maccabi Haifa, where he had played since 2019. Haziza, who served as captain for Haifa last season, signed a two-year contract with Netanya and will earn $250,000 per season. As part of the transfer, Maccabi Haifa paid approximately 400,000 shekels of his remaining salary after excluding him from their future plans.

Haziza, 27, has made 18 appearances for the Israeli national team and is considered one of the top Israeli footballers in recent years. Last season, he scored nine goals and provided two assists. He recently spoke with Netanya’s coach Roni Levy, expressing his determination to start fresh and lead the team in the Israeli Premier League. Levy was impressed by Haziza’s motivation.

This move marks the fifth club in Haziza’s career, following stints at Sektzia Nes Tziona, Bnei Yehuda, Hapoel Ramat Gan, and Maccabi Haifa, where he won three league titles and competed in the Champions League group stage. Netanya, nicknamed "The Diamonds," have also signed players Nadav Nidam, Alon Azugi, Dor Hugy, Grigory Morozov, and foreign goalkeeper Samo Silva this season.
