Police Arrest Suspects After Stun Grenade Attack in Ramat Gan Amid Violent Family Feud

On Thursday night in Ramat Gan, Israeli police arrested two suspects shortly after a stun grenade was thrown near a residential building. The suspects, Ziv Bechar (23) and Yoav Gazit (21) from Modi'in, were already under police surveillance due to an ongoing violent feud between the Musli brothers and the Jarushi crime family. The arrest took place at a gas station at 1:15 a.m., minutes after the grenade was thrown.

Both suspects are also linked to other violent incidents, including the arson of a vehicle in Netanya and the throwing of a fragmentation grenade at a residential building on Jerusalem Street in Rishon Lezion on July 14. Police are investigating whether these events are connected. During the court hearing, Judge Rena Hirsch stated there is reasonable suspicion against Bechar. Police described the charges as attempted murder, use of explosives, arson, and conspiracy. Bechar denied the allegations through his public defender, as did Gazit.

Additionally, a man in his twenties from Lod was arrested on suspicion of throwing a grenade at a house in Herzliya, allegedly inhabited by a soldier linked to the Musli family. The grenade attack in Rishon Lezion caused damage to glass doors and nearby businesses; the building housed a woman associated with a convicted criminal serving a prison sentence.

The violent feud, which reportedly began on July 9, involves the Musli and Jarushi families and has affected businesses owned by Barak Abramov. The Central District Police Commander, Amir Cohen, ordered full police force deployment, including advanced technological surveillance, to curb the violence. Last week, Yossi Musli was also arrested but was released to house arrest shortly after.

The police continue to gather evidence, including intelligence from municipal and private security cameras, to link suspects to the attacks and prevent further violence.
