Israeli Police Prepare Charges in Violent Grenade Attacks Between Crime Families

Israeli police have gathered strong evidence against suspects involved in two of 18 grenade and shooting attacks linked to a violent feud between the Musli and Jarushi crime families. The attacks targeted businesses, including eight assaults on branches of the "Japenica" restaurant chain owned by businessman Barak Abramov in Kiryat Ono and Givatayim, as well as other Sharon region businesses.

In one night about a week ago, grenade blasts occurred in South Tel Aviv, followed shortly by similar attacks in Ness Ziona and Ramat Hasharon, causing property damage but no casualties. One grenade was thrown at a store associated with the Musli organization, injuring a man. Due to the escalation, the Tel Aviv district commander transferred the investigation to the Central Unit (YAMAR). Police also closed four wholesale market businesses damaged in the explosions for public safety reasons.

Ness Ziona Mayor Shmuel Boxer condemned the attacks as serious and instructed local security forces to increase their presence. He expressed confidence in police to thoroughly investigate and prosecute those responsible, emphasizing the city’s commitment to remaining one of Israel’s safest.

The indictments against the suspects are expected to be filed this week following a series of arrests. The ongoing investigation aims to bring accountability for the violent crime wave affecting multiple cities in central Israel.
