Six Grenade Attacks Across Israel Signal Crime Family Feud
Within a span of several hours, six grenade attacks occurred across various Israeli cities, prompting police investigations into a suspected violent feud between crime families. The incidents took place overnight on July 13-14 in Ness Ziona, Tel Aviv, Herzliya, Netanya, and Afula. Two of the grenades targeted branches of the Jafnika restaurant chain in Netanya and Afula, owned by businessman Barak Abramov. Authorities suspect these attacks are linked to an ongoing conflict between the Musli and Jarushi crime families.
These grenade attacks add to a recent series of assaults on Abramov's restaurant chain, including a grenade explosion in Kiryat Ono, a planted explosive device in Ramat Gan, and an attempted arson in Givatayim. Police believe these actions represent a deliberate effort to harm Abramov's business amid the criminal rivalry. Additionally, a grenade explosion was reported on Jerusalem Street in Rishon Lezion, damaging a residential building, which police confirmed was caused by a military-grade grenade.
Other grenade and explosive incidents were reported in Ness Ziona, Herzliya, and two locations in Tel Aviv within the same timeframe. Law enforcement is examining possible connections between these events and recent bombings in residential buildings in Or Yehuda and Tel Aviv. The investigation focuses on the link between the violent feud and the selection of targets, which include residential buildings and Abramov's restaurant outlets. Police continue to probe the series of attacks as part of the escalating crime family war.
